***Urgent Foster Needed**This breaks our hearts. This gorgeous girl is being returned to us. Iris is a stunning lab mix and 1 year old. She was adopted a year ago, but the adopters are divorcing and neither can take the dog. She is good with dogs, cats and people. Owners report that she is a good girl, she loves her people, always wanting to be with them. She been learning to heel, and has been incredibly responsive on walks and is great at fetch. She has been a little growly with their small child, so no little kiddos. We need a foster stat. Who can help this poor girl out? EAPLevergreen@eapl.com if you can. ... See MoreSee Less

Good morning! Thinking about adopting a dog from us? Some people are nervous about adopting a rescue dog, here are some facts to let you know why it might be your best decision yet! There's a persistent myth that rescue dogs are "damaged goods" or have serious behavioral problems. The truth? Most dogs end up in shelters through no fault of their own. Common reasons include owner life changes like moving, financial hardship, divorce, or simply underestimating the commitment a dog requires. Many of our dogs are housetrained, well-socialized, and already know basic commands. When you adopt from a rescue, you're literally saving a life and making room for another dog in need. But the benefits extend beyond the feel-good factor. EAPL also provides initial veterinary care, including spaying/neutering, vaccinations, and health screenings. Our fostering program allows us to assess temperament and match you with a dog that fits your lifestyle, whether you need a couch potato companion or an active hiking buddy.Don't just look at puppies! Adult dogs often make easier pets. You can see their full-grown size and personality, and many have already mastered house training and basic manners. EAPL can tell you about each dog's energy level, compatibility with children or other pets, and any special needs. Our adoption process exists to ensure good matches. Fill out an application, if approved, we will schedule a meet and greet with the animal and conduct a home study. If all goes well, you can bring home your new best friend! So go check out all of our available dogs, like Grey, at EAPL.com, because Forever starts here.#EAPL #Foreverstartshere #adoptdontshop #rescuedogs #secondchances #rescuedismyfavoritebreed ...
