Adopting a Dog Demystified!We wanted to take a minute to explain how dog adoptions work at EAPL. The first step when you see or meet a dog you're interested in is to fill out an adoption form on EAPL.com. This allows us to pre-screen adopters and see if they are the right fit for our animals, as each pet has their own specific needs. PLEASE fill it out completely. We cannot process your application if there are missing parts. And PLEASE be honest about renting/landlords, etc. We will check, only because we want to ensure our animals are going to forever Forevers! Once your application is screened, our team will forward it on to the dog's foster. Our fosters will set up a meet and greet and see if you are a good fit for the dog. Our fosters have the ultimate decision making power-they know the dogs and their needs best! At this point, one of our volunteers will conduct a home inspection to make sure your home is suitable for the animal, for example, secure fencing, stairways a dog can manage, etc.If everything is a good match, the next step is to sign our dog adoption contract and pay the required adoption fee. Our adoption fees are $375. This includes spaying or neutering, Distemper Vaccine(s) (DHPP), Rabies Vaccine (if applicable due to age), Health Certificate Exam, and Treatment of any visible or known medical conditions.See?
