From our friends at Evergreen Fire/RescueSafety Tips for the Predicted Windstorms and Power OutagesBy Einar Jensen, Risk Reduction CoordinatorEvergreen Fire/RescueIf high winds or resulting power outages cause medical emergencies, fires, gas leaks, or other emergencies, CALL 911.Residents who are within 1-2 hours of running out of oxygen at home should call 303-980-7300. That’s the non-emergency line for Jeffcom. Dispatchers will notify Evergreen Fire/Rescue (EFR) and our personnel will respond. If you utilize a generator during a power outage, operate the generator outside and at least 20 feet from the building to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning. The area also should be clear of vegetation and other flammable objects. If you use your vehicle to charge electronics, operate the vehicle outside the garage to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.Symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning include headache, dizziness, fatigue, nausea, and loss of consciousness. If you experience these symptoms, go outside and Call 911.Each EFR fire station has an emergency phone mounted beside the front door (see photo below from Station 1). If you have an emergency and your cell phone is either dead or has no service because of the power outage, drive to the nearest EFR Station and use the Red Emergency Phone.• Station 1 – 4751 County Road 73• Station 2 – 1802 Bergen Parkway• Station 3 – 6940 County Road 73• Station 4 – 5411 County Road 73• Station 5 – 53 Echo Lake Drive• Station 6 – 26370 Highway 74• Station 7 – 157 County Road 65• Station 8 – 33377 Forest Estates RoadPlease watch our social media platforms and check your utility company’s website for information, and check on your neighbors to make sure they are safe, too.For more information on safety topics and Evergreen Fire/Rescue’s commitment to our community, visit www.evergreenfirerescue.com. This handsome dude still needs a foster. Henny is eligible to arrive on 12/29. He's a 2 year old, 79 pound Dane/ Catahoula mix. Good with other dogs and well behaved. He's still has a lot of puppy energy. He knows, sits on command, and listens fairly well when you say back or down or stay. He will need a backyard to run. He's very strong on the leash and will pull very hard. Once we harnessed the leash, he did great. His temp test with a larger female dog named Birdie went fantastic!! He actually submitted, which shocked us all. They shared treats so nicely on the fence line. We kept him outside for a while, and once he got energy out, he settled down.Knows sit - youtube.com/shorts/8SU1tdbxk98 Can we please rescue this guy? Fostering with us is easy. We pay for all food, medical, training if needed and help you every step of the way. Apply to foster here! eapl.com/foster-application/ ... See MoreSee Less
