Good morning! Thinking about adopting a dog from us? Some people are nervous about adopting a rescue dog, here are some facts to let you know why it might be your best decision yet!There's a persistent myth that rescue dogs are "damaged goods" or have serious behavioral problems. The truth? Most dogs end up in shelters through no fault of their own. Common reasons include owner life changes like moving, financial hardship, divorce, or simply underestimating the commitment a dog requires. Many of our dogs are housetrained, well-socialized, and already know basic commands.When you adopt from a rescue, you're literally saving a life and making room for another dog in need. But the benefits extend beyond the feel-good factor. EAPL also provides initial veterinary care, including spaying/neutering, vaccinations, and health screenings. Our fostering program allows us to assess temperament and match you with a dog that fits your lifestyle, whether you need a couch potato companion or an active hiking buddy.Don't just look at puppies!
