We have the coolest adoption update for you. Antolia, a young Anatolian Shepherd/Great Pyr mix, was in foster with us when she and the resident dog started having issues. We had to move her and quickly, so we enrolled her in the Colorado Correctional Industry’s Prison Trained K-9 Companion Program. This program places dogs in prisons with inmates who work day and night to teach basic manners and commands.Little did we know that Antolia was going to find her match there. One of the correctional officers in the prison fell in love, and the rest, as they say, is history. Read on from her new dad."On March 29th, I welcomed Anna, a 19-month-old Anatolian Shepherd and Great Pyrenees mix, into my home. Anna was [in foster with the Evergreen, Colorado rescue]—EAPL—where they invested so much care into her obedience training as part of a special dog program at the prison, where I work. Over the past month, I had the chance to see her grow, and I fell in love with her gentle spirit. Now, I’ve adopted her, and it’s been a success for both of us. **Fosters Needed**These two sweet dogs are at the Denver Animal Shelter. Kona and Falcon are unrelated and do not need to go together. They are both staff and volunteer favorites and we just adore them!Kona is approximately 10yrs old. She is on gabapentin for age but is otherwise healthy! She was surrendered by her owners due to no longer having the time/space for her. 💔 She has good home history and lived with dogs, cats and kids. She is incredibly sweet and very active for her age! She loves other dogs and has had many playdates!youtu.be/n55d03GsfJY Falcon is about 9yrs old, 35lbs. She is hilarious and loves to go for walks and is very active for her age as well.
